i decided this trip deserved it's own page...definitely one for the memories...
it started out innocent enough on the friday evening...we were leaving bowl house after some good sushi dinner...we decided to go visit our buddy john at work...he was able to hook us up with some drinks and we were going to go bowlin with his co workers when the joint closed...cool, 12 o'clock rolls around and i decide i need some krispy kreme...we walk over next door and realized it was closed...i was all prepared to go through the drive thru as that was open 24 hours...but, dave called me and told me they were ready to go...we walk back to the restuarant and begin our trek...not knowing where we were going, we decide to just follow john to the bowlin alley...well, that turned out to be pretty stupid because he didn't know where it was either...we drive around not knowing were lost
but having a good old time because dave pulls out the classic CD by tony rich project...we belting out nobody knows at the top of our lungs in america suburbia...classic...
after circling and getting a tour of oak park, we end up on river and rand...or whatever it was...45 mins after we leave the restuarant, we get to the bowlin alley...go in and they bout to close...leave after sitting around for 20 min...now, trung, dave, and i decide to go north...uh, which way is north? we bust a ralph out of the bowlin alley and are on our way...
(refer to the map for following descriptions)...(this is would be the dark black line on the map) we are going the right way now...bust a louie at the next block and we heading west...good job...shit, a railroad and long ass train is going through...we ain't waitin...let's pull a U'ey and go around it...(now we are driving the light black line on the map) double back past the alley and rolling south, did we know this? no we just driving using our spidey senses...we have no idea where we going...uh huh, dave starts getting annoyed...so we see maywood race tracks...i am starting to feel we are hella far away...i start thinkin we somewhere on the south side...shit, we that closed to sportsman? where is hawthorne? damn, we prolly like 15 min from balmoral? for some odd ball reason, we bust a louie and now we going east...never mind the Route 64 East sign...pay that no mind...the rest of the trip's conversation went like this...
"ah, we just passed harlem...cool, we must be getting close...oak park ave...isn't that east of harlem? why are there chicago police in the north suburbs? damn, was that central ave? huh, whasup with all the mexican people and burrito places? shit, look at all these black people...uh, we are definitely going the wrong direction...ooh, $5.99 rib tips, pull over...al, we are not pulling over here...we might as well go to mickeys...cicero? alright, let's take a right, we'll be going south and hit a major highway...lake ave...fuck you guys, if we don't hit a highway in 5 mins...i am taking this to my sister's and staying there...yes! 290, go west...(now, we on the highway and change our focus on more entertaining matters)
dude, you got a pen in the car? i need to remind myself to download the expose song for my 80s album...just leave yourself a voicemail...cool...(phone dialing)...hi, you have reached al, please leave a message and i'll get back to you as soon as i can...(beep)...
(in slurred speech) whasup dog, you need to go download some expose when you get to work tomorrow...E-X-P-O-S-E apostrophe....yeah...
hey, you ever seen the pressure point pose? well, you need to ask trung to strike one later...(i am ready to pass out)...we pull up to my condo, i get out stirke the pressure point pose...run in and go to sleep...GOOD TIMES.
